The Biloela Hospital have a new emergency department and other improvements thanks to a $7.1 million Rural Rectification Works Project (RRWP) which was completed in July 2014.
The RRWP included moving Community and Allied Health Services into the Biloela Hospital site, which brings all public health services to the one convenient location.
Telehealth services are available to link specialist staff at other hospitals via video-conferencing, which means suitable patients no longer have to travel long distances for appointments.
Staff have been trained to provide sterilising services, which has enabled the Biloela Hospital to provide a central sterilising service for the smaller hospitals in the area (Moura, Baralaba and Theodore), as well as private practices.
