The hospital is a signifcant provider of neurosurgical and spinal surgical services, specialising in all aspects of general neurosugery and disease of the central nervous system.

The operating theatres are equipped to manage highly specialised procedures and is supported by a 14-bed level 3 intensive care unit for any patient should they require monitoring for any medical or surgical conditions. The ICU is headed up with specialist intensivists with extensive experience 24 hours a day.

Originally Wakefield Street Private Hospital established in 1883, the hospital was purchased in May 2006 by The Little Company of Mary Healthcare (LCMHC) and renamed Calvary Wakefield Hospital.

We now employ over 600 staff, have key relationships with a range of expert medical specialists and provide care to over 27,000 people each year from our local community and beyond.
