Maryborough Hospital provides an extensive range of services to the local community and works in partnership with Hervey Bay Hospital in addressing the needs of the population.

Maryborough Hospital provides services including sub-acute inpatient care, acute inpatient Mental Health as well as community based services such as mental, allied and oral health.

Maryborough Hospital has a newly refurbished emergency department and a new satellite renal unit.

A new $1.8million specialist rehabilitation unit provides rehabiliitation care in an appropriate setting.

Settled originally in 1847, Maryborough is one of Queensland’s oldest cities and was one of the busiest immigration ports in Australia in the second half of the 1880s.

The original port district is now a hertiage precinct with a vast array of attractions to spend time viewing. From gloriously preserved colonial buildings, landscaped riverside parks, museums, historic hotels, steam trains and river cruises. 

Maryborough is also the birthplace of Pamela Travers, who is the author of  Mary Poppins. A Mary Poppins festival is held each year during the June-Juy school holidays.

The Brogla Theatre located on the banks of the Mary River and is regarded as one of the best regional theatres in Australia, with regular national and international shows.
