South Perth Hospital has been serving the community of Western Australia since 1956, celebrating its 60 year anniversary in April 2016.

This private, not-for-profit, hospital is managed by a Board of Management. It is one of a kind, with no affiliations to any other organisation. South Perth Hospital is licensed for 95 beds, with 5 operating rooms and 1 procedure room providing medical, surgical and endoscopy services to the West Australian community.

With the exception of the corporate administration offices (2-storey), the hospital is a single-level brick building with front and rear public access.

Ample free parking is available in the Fortune Street and Birch Street carparks along with free street parking in South Terrace and Fortune Street.

There are a number of clinical support services located on the site including radiology, pathology, physiotherapy, podiatry and consulting rooms for an Orthopaedic Surgeon, a Hand & Upper Limb therapy practice and an Ear, Nose and Throat practice. Pharmaceutical services are provided by Community Pharmacy which is located across from the Hospital on the corner of South Terrace and Coode Streets.

The Hospital aims to provide an excellent standard of patient care that is clinically competent, safe, considerate, efficient and effective which operates within budgetary constraints. Support for the psychological needs of patients, their relatives and friends are also considered to be a vital aspect of providing total patient care.

While the Hospital does not have an onsite café, carer meals can be ordered from our kitchen or visitors can access the café located across from the hospital with a range of small shops available a short walk away in Coode Street

South Perth Hospital is located 7 minutes from the Perth Central Business District and is in close proximity to all teaching hospitals. Patients admitted to South Perth Hospital are Visiting Medical Officer dependent and may come from as far north as the Kimberley region, south to the Great Southern Region or east to the Goldfields/Esperance Region. Historically, some are interstate or international patients.

The Hospital is accredited with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards with full accreditation granted until August 2018.
