St Andrew's Toowoomba Hospital is a 137-bed, acute care private hospital situated on the north-western side of Toowoomba. Established in 1966, the Hospital is a not-for-profit private hospital and a registered charity. All profits made by the Hospital are reinvested back into the Hospital to provide expansion of buildings, additional services, new equipment and staff training.

The hospital employs approximately 500 staff with over 350 credentialed Visiting Medical Officers and Allied Health Professionals providing services to 24,500 patients annually. Offering acute surgical and medical care, St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital has state-of-the art facilities including 7 operating theatres, 2 day procedure rooms, 1 cardiac catheter/vascular laboratory, 8-bed intensive care unit, 6-bed cardiac medical unit, 25 chair medical oncology unit, 12 chair renal dialysis unit, 3-bed sleep studies unit and the latest in radiotherapy technology with 3 linear accelerators.

The awarding of a Commonwealth Department of Health & Ageing tender totalling $8.6 million to St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital during 2005 to establish a radiotherapy unit for the Darling Downs Region and co-locate the existing oncology services along with an additional $8.3 million during 2010 to expand Medical Oncology services and purchase a third linear accelerator has proved a real boost for the hospital as patients no longer have to travel to Brisbane.

St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital is a teaching hospital for the University of Queensland (UQ) and is member of the Australian Private Hospital’s Association (APHA) and the Private Hospital’s Association of Queensland (PHAQ). The hospital is also accredited with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS).
