The Skin & Cancer Foundation Australia (the Foundation) is a not-for-profit benevolent organisation benefitting and treating those who suffer from diseases of the skin. Our specialists offer a full range of services for the diagnosis and management of all skin conditions, including skin cancer. In addition, we provide an extensive range of dermatological services and cosmetic procedures, all performed by dermatologists and dermatology nurses.

Since it opened in 1976, the Foundation has gained a reputation as a centre of excellence in the clinical management of skin diseases and skin surgery, and also in dermatology research and education. The Foundation operates a Day Surgery at both Darlinghurst and Westmead. We perform the largest number of Mohs dermatological surgery in the southern hemisphere. Both facilities are licensed with the NSW Department of Health as day procedure centres and have quality certification with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS).

The Foundation has a world class specialised dermatology pathology laboratory based at Darlinghurst, providing an exceptional standard of diagnostics for all types of skin conditions. The pathology laboratory at Darlinghurst is licensed with the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA).

The Skin & Cancer Foundation Australia is a registered educational institution, and with its association with the Australasian College of Dermatologists is committed to the training of dermatology registrars. We estimate that in the past 15 years, 95% of dermatologists admitted to Fellowship in NSW have spent at least one year of their training at The Skin & Cancer Foundation Australia.

The Foundation is committed to undertaking research in both dermatopathology and dermatology. We have a dedicated research unit under the leadership of A/Prof Pablo Fernández-Peñas.

We are affiliated with the Australasian College of Dermatologists, The University of Sydney, the University of New South Wales, the University of Western Sydney, St Vincent's Hospital, Westmead Hospital and The Children's Hospital, Westmead.
