War Memorial Hospital Waverley is an affiliated hospital under the governance of Uniting Care - NSW.ACT.
The primary role of the hospital is rehabilitation and assessment services for people aged over 60 years. It provides; inpatients rehabilitation, non-inpatient (outpatient) rehabilitation and podiatry services, dementia and frail aged day care services, and an aged care assessment team, as well as specialist clinics and health promotion activities. Aquatic physiotherapy (hydrotherapy) is available.
The Hospital campus also accommodates the SESLHD/UTS Health and Ageing Research Unit, POWH Home Dialysis services and Elizabeth Hunter Lodge partner accommodation unit.
There are strong clinical links with both St Vincent's Hospital Sydney and Prince of Wales Hospital. The Hospital is affiliated with the University of NSW. It supports students from this entity and other tertiary institutions in their training and pursuit of qualifications.
The hospital, which is set in tranquil gardens, is located at Waverley and a 10 minute drive from Sydney city centre or a 10 minute walk from the Bondi Junction railway station. It is well served by two major bus routes, and is only minutes from the eastern suburbs beaches and Centennial Park. On-site parking is available to staff.
